Dal Bhat and Tarkari
Dal, Bhat and Tarkari is regular and traditional food in Nepal. People prefer roti or chapati with rice too. Dal is lentis (pulses), Bhat is cooked rice and tarkari is cooked vegetables. Achar is also added to Rice thali to make it complete.
People eat yogurt, ghee and sometimes mithai with Dal Bhat too. In villages where there is ample milk, people eat rice with milk too.
However, rice or roti is common, and other items depend upon how
much one can afford. Hence, rice or roti is eaten with just green chili
and a pinch of salt or with lots of varieties round the rice plate.
